Abstract: This study aims to determine the change and factors causing these changes in the pike-perch population of Eğirdir Lake, an important some of income for the inhabitants. In this context, 1315 fish of age ranging between 0-VII yeras were caught during July-November 1991. Analyses showed that 94% of the population is composed of young fish of 0-II years of age. pike-perch of 0 year having an average fork lenth of 17,81 cm and 52,35 g of weight may reach a lenth of 58,6 cm and 1884,5 g of weight when it attains the age of VII. Comparing the results of this study with those of the previous studies on the pike-perch of again the Eğirdir Lake, it was revealed that the growth rate of the population has been decreased. It is concluded that, anthropogenic effects that changed the hydrology and morphometry of the lake were also responsible for this situation in addition to mismanagement such as over exploitation and implantation of pike-perch without considering the ecological conditions.
