Taxonomic Status of Allactaga williamsi Thomas, 1897 (Rodentia: Dipodidae) in Turkey

Abstract: In this study, 213 specimens of Allactaga williamsi Thomas, 1897, collected from various areas of Turkey were compared based on morphological, cranial, external and karyological characters. The findings obtained showed that Allactaga williamsi laticeps Nehring, 1903, and Allactaga williamsi schmidti Satunin, 1907, are valid taxa. It was also determined that A. w. schmidti is distributed in Turkey.
