Abstract: In this research, the colourfullness and the relationships between colourfullness and physical characteristics in the coarse and down fibres obtained from hair goats raised in the provinces of Antalya, Artvin, Diyarbakır, İzmir, Kars and Konya in Turkey were studied. It was found that the most common colours were black (69%), white (9%) and milky brown (37%), and brown (15%) and white (14%), respectively in the coarse and down fibres for the provinces overall. The difference in fineness between the white and cream colour groups was significant (p<0.01). There was not a linear relationship in terms of colourfullness between coarse and down fibres in each animal.
