Abstract: Various fertility parameters, plasma progesterone and oestradiol 17\beta ?concentrations were investigated in Angora Goats receiving gonadoreline immediately or on 12th day after breeding . A total 48 cyclic , pluriparous Angora Goats, 2-5 years of age were divided into 3 groups. The first group received 100 µg gonadorelin immediately after breeding. The second group received 100 µg gonadoreline on the 12th day after breeding and the third group receiving no injection served as the control. Jugular blood samples were collected from all goats during the days 13 to 16 after breeding and plasma progesterone and oestradiol 17\beta?levels were determined by EIA. Pregnancy rates 81.25%, 87.50% and 100%; abortion rates 0%, 12.50% and 8.25%; kidding rates 84.25%, 75.00% and 93.75% ; litter size 0.87, 0.75 and 1.06 and twinning rates %7.96, 0% and 13.33% were obtained in control, first and second groups respectively. The difference in progesterone levels between control and treatment groups was statistically significant (P<0.001). Also the difference in oestradiol 17\beta ?levels between second and other groups was found to be statistically significant (P<0.001). In conclusion, gonadoreline injection 12 days after breeding may be a choice of treatment for better fertility in Angora Goats.
