Abstract: This research was carried out the date between November - 1993 and August - 1994 in Freshwater Fish Culture Station, Faculty of Fisheries, the University of Çukurova. It was studied on determinations if some haematologic parameters of healthy Oreochromis niloticus (L.) adult (Cichlidae family). Blood samples were collected from fishes at tail region, eryhthrocyte and leucocyte cells were counting from blood smearing, matching proportion to each other of leucocyte cells was determined by cheching their stained blood smearing capacity. Haematocrit and haemoglobin values in the blood, total protein and glucose values in the serum were also found. Cells diameter of erythrocyte and leucocyte were measured by means of ocular micrometer in mikroscope. Quantitles of erythrocyte, leucocyte, haemoglobin and haematocrit values were 2,16-4,005.106/mm3, 25,6-77,5.103/mm3, 3-6 dL/g and 25-44% respectively. Proportion of lymphocyte cells, monocyte cells, neutrophyl cells, eosinophyl cells, agranulocyte cells and granulocyte cells were 32-84%, 8-42%, 4-10%, 4-28%, 64-92% and 8-36% respectively. Besides, the long diameter of erythrocyte was found to be 7-11,5µ, 9,5-11µ and 7,5-10µ for lymphocyte, monocyte, neutrophyl and eosinophyl respectively. Only a single basophil cell in one occasion is found, therefore it could not be expressed in proportion. Total serum protein and blood glucose levels were determined to be 2,16-4,4 dL/g and 114-235 dL/mg respectively.
