Abstract: The electronic specturm of diatomic PbCl molecule has been excited in RF discharge source and (0,4 and (0,5) bands at 4846.0 \AA\,\, and 4916.4 \AA, respectively, have been photographed at a resolution of 2\times 10^{5} in PGS-2 (Carl-Zeiss) using kodak 103-0 plates and a fine slit of 30 \mum. Rotational analysis of the bands has been performed and molecular constants including \alpha_{e} and \beta_{e} are reported. A detailed investigation leads to the proposition that the bands arise due to the electronic transition (1/2)\rightarrow (1/2) equivalent of A^{2}\sum \rightarrow X^{2}\Pi_{1_{/2}}, both the states being in Hund's case (c).
