Application of Green Function Method to the Calculation of Surface States in Semiconductors with Inverted Kane Spectrum

Abstract: The energy spectrum of surface states in semiconductors with Kane spectrum has been calculated by Green function method. The generalized Kane model was used, which describes simultaneously the dispersion laws for light and heavy holes and electrons. It has been shown that the surface states of electrons exist in semimetallic phase, as well as in semiconductor phase in semiconductors with Kane spectrum.
