Intrinsic Josephson Effects in Layered Superconductors

Abstract: Intrinsic stationary and dynamic Josephson effects inherent to Josephson- coupled layered superconductors are considered for high-T_c and organic superconductors. The time-dependent equation for the gauge-invariant phase difference is obtained which accounts for fixed pancake vortices induced by the component of magnetic field perpendicular to the layers. Basing on this equation we discuss the new effects in the vortex structure arising due to Josephson nature of interlayer coupling, effect of pancake vortices on the c-axis critical current and phase collective modes including c-axis Josephson plasmon.
