Relativistic Electron in the Field of Two Coulomb Centers

Abstract: Ground state wave function and the energy term of the relativistic electron moving in the field of two Coulomb centers are calculated analytically by the method of linear combination of atomic orbitals. Obtained analytical formula is applied to the calculation of the critical distance between two heavy nuclei at which energy term reaches the boundary of the lower continuum.
