Project TÜRBÜT: Grain Acreage Estimation of Turkey by Remote Sensing:1^{st} and 2^{nd} Year's Work Summary

Abstract: Results from Project Grain Acreage estimation by Remote Sensing in Turkey (T\"{U}RB\"{U}T) for years 1991 and 1992 are summarized in the present report. It is seen that remote sensing estimates of grain acreage are substantially lower than estimations made by the Ministry of Agriculture with conventional methods. For the operational application of remote sensing estimations, problems related to the delay of image acquisition has to be solved.
