Mutation Detection Using Unlabelled Amplification and Mismatch Detection (AMD) Analysis Technique

Abstract: In this study unlabelled amplification mismatch analysis (AMD) method was used to detect mutations in the retinoblastoma gene (RB1). In order to compare the efficiency of the unlabelled method, unlabelled AMD analysis of RT-PCR amplified products was performed on patients with this bilateral retinoblastoma. This method was found to be fast and reliable and can be used for diagnostic purposes in countries where radiolabelled subtances are not readily available.
