Water content changes along shear planes in drained and undrained triaxial compression tests on unsaturated cohesive soils

Authors: HASAN ÇETİN

Abstract: Drained and undrained triaxial compression tests were run on undisturbed samples of two unsaturated cohesive soils to study water content changes in drained and undrained conditions along shear planes. The results show that while there is a noticeable water content increase away from the failure planes in the undrained tests, there seems to be an insignificant water content change in the drained tests.
