Effect of Buoyancy on Dispersion of Matter in MHD Flow

Authors: Gülgün YALÇINKAYA

Abstract: The dispersion of buoyant contaminants through an electrically conducting fluid in Couette flow in the presence of a unimform transverse magnetic tield is examined in this paper. The dispersion decreases as the Hartmann number increases and decreases with the increasing ratio of the Grashof number to the Reynolds number. The mean concentration satisties a non-linear diffusion equation which is dependent upon the concentration gradient. The solution of this equation is given for continuous discharge.
