Temperature Measurements in Buoyancy-Opposed Turbulent Mixed Convection

Authors: Orhan BÜYÜKALACA

Abstract: Fluid temperature fluctuations were measured during heat transfer to water at Reynolds numbers of 2750 to 57000 and Grashof number of 1.5x1O^8. Experiments were performed for downward flow in a vertical, uniformly heated, stainless steel pipe having a diameter of 48 mm. The measurements show that the influences of buoyancy forces on the profiles of mean and fluctuating temperature are minimal for the range of parameters investigated.
