Abstract: To eliminate some problems in the production of composites by classical methods, composite producing was performed by oxidising metallic precursor, and mechanically alloyed Ba-Al powders were oxidised. Mechanical alloying proceses were applied with rolling and high-energy vibratory ball mills and the effect of milling duration on the micro structure was determined. It was found that the powders were not mixed completely and uniformly for even a 100 hour ball milling duration. It was also found that a 5 hour high energy vibratory milling time resulted in sufficient and uniform dispersion, and with increasing milling time, mechanical alloying and uniform dispersion were increased.
