Wind Potential in The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and The Generation of Electricity From This Energy

Abstract: Wind energy is one of the earliest energy sources known to mankind. First applications of wind energy were in the form of windmills which were designed and built to grind grain and pump water. This form of energy, like other forms of renewable enery sources, is clean and environmentally friendly. This article investigates the simulation of electricity generation based upon wind data and wind generator characteristics. Further, the potential of wind energy in Northern Cyprus is investigated and recommendations are given for future studies.
