Abstract: Simulation studies were carried out by modelling the daily rainfall data taken from two stations with different rainfall characteristics, detined as wet and dry. In modelling the probability of rain, the Markov chain of the second order was used, while gamma distribution was used to model the amount of rain. The results of the simulations, covering a 100-year period, were compared with the observed data from both stations. These comparisons show that the modelling and simulations were successful.
