Abstract: Photocuring of formulations containing polyurethane based acrylates and a flame retarding monomer (FR), namely vinyl phosphonic acid with an \alpha -cleavage type photoinitiator; 2-hydroxy-2-methylphenyl propane-1-one were studied. The flame retardancy, and the physical and mechanical properties of the cured films were determined.

Keywords: Flame retardancy, U.V. curable polyurethane acrylate, vinyl phosphonic acid.
