Abstract: In this study. Iead nitrate at different concentration was applied to wild type adult individuals of Drosophla melanogaster. When F_1, F_2 and F_3 generations from these individuals are compared with each other in relation to metamorphosis and the total number offspring. this chemical was found to be extending the process of metamorphosis and decreasing the total number of offspring. Furthermore. Iead nitrate caused wing and thorax abnormalities and decreased in body size of F_1 individuals in all concentration during development. The possible mechanisms of the negative effects of Iead nitrate on the development of Drosophla melanogaster has been discussed.
