Abstract: In this study, the effect of zeaxanthin and tank color on pigmentation and growth of godfish ( Carassius auratus ) was investigated. Total carotenoid deposition in the fish skin was determined spectrophotometrically. At the end of 60 days of experimental period, total carotenoid accumulation in the skin of fish feeding the same food containing 75 mg/kg zeaxanthin and grown in green, blue, red, white and yellow tanks were 34.41±0.56, 32.90±0.42, 28.60±0.74, 28.58±0.52, and 26.96±0.70 mg/kg, respectively. Pigmentation in green and blue tanks were higher than the other tanks (p<0.05). In addition, the fish in green tanks faster than those growt in the other tanks (p<0.05).
