The Correlation and Path Coefficient Analysis for Yield and Some Yield Components of Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) in Southeastern Anatolia Ecological Conditions

Authors: Necmi İŞLER, Mehmet Emin ÇALIŞKAN

Abstract: The correlations among seed yield per decar and plant height, first pod height, branch number, seed yield per plant, 100- seed weight and harvest index, and direct and indirect effects of these characters on seed yield were investigated in soybean with 14 cvs. in 1993 and 10 cvs. in 1994 in Southern Anatolian Region. As a result, seed yield per plant, first pod height, branch num-ber and plant height were the most efficient characters on seed yield per decar and it was concluded that these characters could be considered as significant selection criterias in soybean breeding for yield under regional conditions.
