The Effects of Bottom Heating on Rooting of Hardwood Cuttings With Different Number of Buds of Some Grapevine Rootstocks Resistant to Nematodes

Abstract: In this experiment, the effects of bottom heating on rooting of hardwood cuttings with different number of buds of Dog Ridge, Salt Creek, Harmony, 1616 C and 1613 C which are nematode-resistant rootstock varieties were investigated, and rooting percentage, degree of rooting, total number and length of roots were determined. The highest values were obtained from the bottom heated cuttings with had three and four buds. The results showed that 1616 C had superior rooting ability than the other rootstocks in all characteristics tested. The rooting percentage was about 80-90 % and the rooting quality was sufficient, bottom-heated Salt Creek and Dog Ridge cuttings with three and four buds which were difficult-to-root.
